So Windows 11 is a pretty hot topic already for a month now & I thought why not upgrade from Windows 10 Home on my Surface Laptop 4 to the new Windows 11 Insider Preview Build (22000.160) - Beta Release.
Microsoft released the ISOs on 19th Aug (yes, 4 days ago!!).
In the below video I have upgraded it by signing up to the Windows Insider Program and did the upgrade it via the regular process (Check Updates).
From the video, it is clear that if we don't sign up to the 'Windows Insider Program', Windows will not detect the Windows 11 part of the regular/manual updates check. Upon signing up (and restart) & then checking for updates, it is detected.
Few things will be clearer from the above video:
1) Disk Usage - 15 GB (6 GB Download & 9 GB Installation)
2) Download Time - Although this is subjective based on your data speed, I was connected over 4G Hotspot (Cellular Jio) & was able to download it in 1 hour.
3) Installation Time - 30 Minutes.
In the coming days I will explore this operating system (there will be bugs & known fixes but I hope nothing too traumatic). I hope you liked the blog & the video (already). Cheers!
